This is the first YouTube series I’ve pitched. After researching what other schools have done, I found that Lofi videos are typically low-effort but offer high rewards. This project has been a true collaboration with my coworker, allowing me to gain valuable experience in video editing and production.
Content with a longer shelf life
We decided to try two different styles of Lofi videos to try to gather what style suits our Duke audience best. Drone lofi is a trend we saw getting popular—we have a plethora of drone content—we repurposed footage to fit our current needs. This aids in making sure our content has many use cases and a longer shelf life.
Intentional Launch
We intentionally launched this playlist during fall semester finals and are continuing to launch new videos around spring midterms and finals season. We hope as trends change and grow this series can also.
Duke is home to undergrads, graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, and future students. 33% of our workforce—that is non-student/non-patient facing—work from home. We wanted to bring a little bit of the Duke spirit right to their home office, living room, or wherever they want to engage with our content.
